MALVERN FIRE & POLICE SAFETY DAY 2008

MAY 03 - Today Tanker 26 made the trip East to Malvern Fire and Police Safety Day events. The Tanker was used to supply water to teach children what it is like to use a fire hose while it is flowing water. While not at full operating pressure the children were allowed to use the fire hose and nozzle to spray water at cut-out of a small house.

MVC, BUSINESS 30 WEST OF RT. 10

APRIL 27 - On Sunday April 27th Station 31, Rescue 28 & Amb. 29 were dispatched for a MVC at Rt's 10 & 30 Sadsbury Twp. Battalion 31 arrived on location and reported the accident to be in West Sadsbury Twp. which changed the response adding Engine 26-3 and Amb. 28 at 1700 hrs. Tanker Runs Building Fire in West Caln

APRIL 12 - 1439hrs. Tanker 26 was alerted to assist Station 34 (Martin's Corner) on the building fire at 437 Hill Rd in West Caln Township. The tanker had already made the trip to Station 29 (Pomeroy) for the cover assignment for Chief McGuigan's Beef & Beer benefit dinner and quickly responded with Lancaster County Engine 5-2-1 (Christiana) also on stand by for Pomeroy.

Atglen attends MCI drill in Cochranville

APRIL 05 - Satuday morning Engine 26-3 and a crew of 4 attended a MCI (mass casualty incident) drill at Station 27 (Cochranville). The drill consisted of approx. 20 children injured on a school bus that was in an accident with a truck containing show dogs.

The drill was held to evaluate local Emergency Services and how they handled a large sacle injury incident.... (Full Story & Photos)

Vehicle Accident involving Horse Trailer

APRIL 03 - 1615hrs. Atglen & Parkesburg units were dispatched to the area of Swan Rd. and Church Rd. in West Sadsbury Township for a vehicle accident.

Engine 26-3 responded at 1618 hrs. and was given updated information that animals were injured in the accident. Arriving at 1621 hrs. the Engine crew found a horse trailer had become disconnected from the truck that was towing it and struck a utility pole. ... (Full Story & Photos)

Field Fire McHenry & Lenover

MARCH 30 - Around lunch time Atglen units were alerted to assist Cochranville Fire Co. with a field fire in the area of McHenry & Lenover Rds. Engine 26-3 made the response from a RIT training class in Parkesburg followed quickly by Brush and Tanker 26. The fire was contained quickly and 26 units returned with in about 45 min.... MARCH 17 - Beef & Beer Benefit
Pomeroy Fire Chief & Atglen life member Doug McGuigan has been diagnosed with cancer and there will be a Beef & Beer Benefit held to assist Chief McGuigan and his family with expenses.
