Words cannot describe the deep sorrow I feel in the passing of George Boyd. He was the one that got me intrested in being a volunteer with the Atglen Fire Co. He was my neighbor and close friend for many years. Though we haven't stayed in contact for years, I still felt close to George for talking me into the fire service and all the satisfaction that I felt for helping others and trying to create a safe enviornment for the community. At this time my wife Kathy and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Boyd family. May you all have peace and comfort at this time sorrow.

I just wanted to say that I love our fire department. Cheif, Bill, and Stephanie are soooooooo awesome with my son Shane. He loves hanging out at the firehouse and helping chief wash the trucks after a call, Can't wait to give Stephie and Bill high fives or pound. He's 2 months shy of being 3 but I think we have a future firefighter on our hands thanks to them. Thank you for ALL you do. The Brennan Family

Looking through all the old pictures. It was great to see them and how it was in the good old days. Looking back at the old faces of people i grew up around. Seeing mom, dad, and poppop, Denny and Steve just brought back alot of good memories for me of the way things use to be. Great to see that stuff out there.

Thanks again for another nice Banquet. And congrats to Bill B on all those years of service to his community and the fire co. I thought that was a great honor you guys gave him by dedicating the new truck in his name. It was well deserved. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and keep up the good work.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Wayne Abel.. I remember taking the antiques to Salisbury and Wayne always tagged along with "The Bills". We sure did have some good times. Wayne was always good to have along for the trip, you know, in case (or when) something broke! My condolences go out to Wayne's family as well as his "family" at Atglen. I know that he will be missed.

Hey POP Winters. How the heck are you. How about meeting at jimmy johns for a dog. Just kiddin, to far for me to drive. Now living in Kissimmee, FLA. Will be sending you an invite to attend a parade in Newark, DE and hope you can bring your ALF down.
If you go to the CC Chiefs meetings and see or hear the name Romig, yes he is related to me. He is my nephew and Deputy Chief of the Twin Valley FD.
Take care

OMG. The first time I signed the guestbook I only glanced around. This time I looked under historical section and low and behold who did I see? ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sure am glad I improved with age. I saw everyone I knew at that time and it brought back some good memories. Even my daughter Christina made it in there. Thanks for keeping the pics. It was good to travel back in time.

Just spoke with Ron Scott and he moving back in time and told me that I should view the various sites, so I thought with nothing to do I would start making the rounds. Atglen holds a special place with me because when I first became Chief back in 1981 (youngest in Kennett history at age 26), "Pop" and Bill Winters (current Chief) were alway available to answer any questions or help a rookie Chief no matter what the situation. Thanks Bill. Hopefully Chester County Fire Service realizes the contribution you, your Dad and Ron Scott among many more have made to this County. Ralph
Great job on the site Billy. The pictures are awesome and keeping the site updated like you're doing makes me check back again and again. Keep up the good work.
