0152hrs. Units from Atglen, Cochranville, and Parkesburg Ambulance were dispatched to 1518 Glen Run Road in West Fallowfield Township for a house fire with the 911 caller stating a fully engulfed house fire.
Engine 26-1 & Tanker 26 went enroute at 0158hrs. as the Township PD confirmed a fully involved house fire and updated the address as 1575 Glen Run Road. Engine 26-1 arrived on scene at 0205hrs. with a 2.5 story SFD with an advanced fire condition and the structure starting to collapse. At this time a 1st. Alarm Tanker Task Force was requested bringing 5 Tankers from surrounding companies. Tanker 26 (Chief 26) arriving a few minutes later seeing the advanced fire requested the 2nd. alarm Tanker Task Force bringing 5 more tankers to the scene.
Crews from Atglen & Cochranville started a defensive attack to stop the fire from advancing into the 2 car garage. As more units arrived crews were assigned to stretch several more handlines and assist with overhaul and try to salvage anything possible.
Fortunately no one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office.
The incident was placed under control at 0339hrs. and units were starting to be released. Atglen units cleared the scene at 0643hrs.
